Hi there!
I'm an experimentalist at the intersection between condensed matter physics and materials science. I work on the synthesis of quantum matter heterostructures and use a variety of tools to engineer their properties and probe the emergent phenomena.
I play with materials chemistry to engineer novel structural, electronic and magnetic properties in quantum oxides grown by pulsed laser deposition. This can include moving ions around, playing with boundary conditions or mechanical manipulation. I characterise my materials using a range of techniques from in-house transport and spectrometry to unique international facilities such as synchrotron, neutron and muon sources. These fascinating, correlated systems, offer us a window into the fundamental properties of matter.
In Autumn 2024 I joined the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Northwestern University as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor.
